    A short extract from today's Sunday Times - the latest in a series of excellent and candid TdF articles by former pro cyclist Paul Kimmage:

    Yes, all his interviews going back some time are this awkward, i.e. before the Tour, before the bonk, after the bonk, on the Champs, and after the positive.

    I think he grew up in a family that very strongly taught "which of you then shall cast the first stone?" A quote from a very famous old cycling and life coach.
    Floyd was angry and annoyed because the repeated questions about doping were taking away from his achievement, were trolling for him to insult other riders, and I saw the interview on tape and I thought there was a lot of dignity and respect in his answer.
    I think most riders did not take any satisfaction in Basso and Ullrich being excluded and bringing more negative focus on the sport.
