  1. After being forced to sell my beloved road bike to escape Holland, i cant fight the urge to turn the legs over any longer and im after a 500 to 700$ bike as an option for just generally riding around. I was thinking a simple mtb, what other options would one suggest? any specific models or stores in Sydney that i should look at? I know nothing outside the world of road bikes really.

If you're from a road background, I'd suggest a road bike would be better.
If you're sure you want an MTB, you can get a basic off road capable
machine for around that price. I'd suggest hitting whatever bike shops
you're nearest. Bike Addiction, Turramurra Cyclery, St Ives Cycles and
City Bike Depot all seem to have clueful staff, which is far more
important than the brand of bike they carry.
