I've picked up a strange injury on my left foot, it hurts when I lift
my heel up keeping my toes on the ground. It's a sort of grinding pain
running round from the crease above my toes to the ball of my foot.
I'm gutted because I was up to 8 miles per run and feeling good. Been
wearing absorb pads in my trainers (Nike full shocks) but it doesn't
help. Should I:
A) Rest. (Obvious I know, but I'm loathe to spoil such a good thing)
B)Give up running and become an unwashed alcoholic. (Just as obvious,
and easily accomplished, the Nike full shocks must be worth a couple
of bottles of brandy alone)
C)Seek professional advice. (Good grief!!!!)
D)Kill myself. (I've been reading too much Camus lately)
It's just so typical that injury strikes just when you start to get
somewhere. I should say, I'm 40, have only been running about 4
months, about the right weight and reasonably fit otherwise.
