    Purely depends on budget.

The new Polar cycling specific computers look good. CS100 is the entry level, CS200 is wireless. Then there's the CS200cad which is fully wireless and records cadence. Link to site

There's the Ciclosport HAC4 which Postal used to use, it shows altitude and climbing data and estimates power output (estimates being the operative word here).

HA! Ya shoulda come to Richmond a couple of weeks ago, might have scored an iBook for 50 bucks. Great carpet here as well.

I personally don't like the wireless models since the transmitter can be sketchy in bad weather. The little black wire doesn't bother me esthetically. Got a couple of low-end CatEyes that work great. One crazy thing I ran into with the SportSigma BC800 is that it didn't show average speed nor fractional speed less than 1 mph. It quickly went back to Supergo. Even the low end models should have the basics; speed, avg speed, total dist, trip dist, duration.
