  1. I have injured my ankle so I have taken up riding my bike
for a while. Will this slow my ankle from healing properly?

    Thanks for advice.

    What is your ankle injury?

I had a really bad ankle sprain back in October, and cycling
was the way to go. It all depends on your specific injury,
but I asked my doctor and she said it would be perfectly
okay for my injury--in fact, good, because the worst thing
you can do with an ankle sprain in most cases is to _not_
move it. As an exercise, she also recommended drawing
circles and signing my name with my foot to work on
mobility. After about 6 weeks of cycling, I was able to
return to running with some discomfort, and I was well on my
way to recovery at that point. I'd say if you don't feel
pain while cycling, perhaps just a little bit of discomfort,
it's okay, but best consult with your physician.

  4. It's gotta be good for it, and nothing wrong.

Last May, I severely sprained my ankle and was on crutches
for 5 days. I spent a lot of time stretching the ankle, and
a lot of excursuses like balancing on it, doing circles and
spelling my name with my foot. Google Ankle sprains and
you'll find lots of excursuses to do.

Anyway I was running within a week of walking, but I was
taping the [censored] out of it and the running actually helped
the recovery process even further. "Stew4rtLittle"
