  1. Hi,

My last two up here will be these two. Probably going
to sleep in the car (espace with single bed matress)
then start early MTBing to the end of the landy track.

Any tracks/paths not on the OS map ?

    Ta

    Nick

Did this pair in March 1999 with son Mark, ( he would have been 14 at
that time ). We cycled from Linn of Dee to Geldie Lodge and dumped the
bikes in the ruin, probably could have cycled further but the track
starts to deteriorate at that point and becomes significantly steeper,
or certainly felt like it. Taking to foot we followed the track as
shown in the 1992 Munro book and on up the easy slopes to CaF. There
was a fair bit of late snow lying and we had a bit of fun sliding
down onto the col. Another easy climb brings you to the summit of AS.
I seem to recall we cut a bit of the corner descending back to Geldie
Lodge but can't really remember if I am honest. The entire trip took
us exactly 8 hours from car to car so certainly worth the early start
at this time of year. Good Luck on these two, no real difficulty in
walk or navigation, just a big long day. Enjoy.

Cheers, early start to avoid 3hrs drive up from Falkirk
then return on the same day.

I may leave it till easter, stay at the Braemar site and cycle from there.
