G'day
My son who lives in another city(in Australia) has a set of American Classic Wheels on his road bike,the rear wheel is a bit loose and the bike shop he goes to just clamped up the pressure on the skewer and charged for the pleasure,this was not the answer.I realise that some Zips use this method,but can someone enlighten me to the solution on these wheels.My choice would be to undo the lock nut.tighten axle and redo lock nut?

Regards Allan42American classic hubs are the pits. The bearing circlet which holds the bearings in the hubs is probably broken. This is so common and can occur when the quick release is tightened. I say contact american classic, and as they are cartridge bearings, locknuts usually don't bring much joy. (otherwise, replace the hubs with something quality, Dura Ace, Record, DT or anything with a good rep.)
