I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Mine was very nice - DF is in town (for another 6 days yet)
and everything seemed to go smoothly. Christmas dinner was at my cousin's house, as it always is as
that's the only place that will accommodate everyone (almost 20 people). My aunt even behaved
herself in terms of trying to make us eat more than we wanted to, partly because she forgot the pie
she was bringing (caramel apple). Oh well!
I really haven't eaten too far off plan, and haven't over-indulged at all and yet the scale on
Friday was up 2 pounds. I'm afraid to see what it will be on Monday. I wasn't able to get in all the
excercise that I wanted to, and I've been dealing with another infection and some digestive problems
which I'm hoping account for the weight gain. I'm so bloated that I feel like I've gained all 30
pounds back! Can't wait for things to get back to normal again.
The cats are slowly accepting the new cat into the fold, and he seemed to have an enjoyable
Christmas. He was a little overwhelmed by all the wrapping on Christmas day, but we've left some of
the bows and ribbons on the livingroom floor and he's been having a great time playing with those.
He's become social enough that he doesn't automatically run when he sees someone, and unfortunately
has become comfortable enough that he's taken to going up on the counter and the kitchen table. He
seems to have developed a fondness for my scarf.
Christmas saw a very different trend in terms of gifts. My mother and I gave each other exercise
wear. We both received lingere from various members of my family, although the PJ set my mother got
is a 3x - she's now a 1x. One of the sets I got is a size larger than I am.
And as we opened things - especially the 3x PJs - I couldn't help but being pleased. And we found a
lot of humor in the 3x PJs. But all I could think is that LAST year these things would have fit. And
it was a great feeling being able to put on something that would have been a perfect fit last year
and see it hanging like a rag 🙂
And DF is now talking about getting an exercise bike for me to use at his place. He has a touring
bike on a trainer in the livingroom, but no matter how much I try I just can't use that thing. It's
too tall for me, the pedals are weird little things and are supposed to clip in to the special shoes
and I just can't get it to work. I'm at his place for the first week or so in January, and we'll see
what we can find in terms of a good cheap stationary bike. Yay!
