I am either the dumbist runner on the planet or the luckiest. I have been
using sorbathane insoles for at least five years. I just replaced my
running shoes (same model and size) and put in the insoles from the old
shoes into the new shoes. Now, in the past I have always removed the
factory insoles when I inserted the sorbathane. BUT, this time my brain was
on automatic and I just flat forgot about taking out the old insoles.
As I put on the new shoes I noticed they didn't quite lace the same as the
old ones (not enough lace left for my standard looping and knots). It
didn't register. Same size shoes always fit just a little differently and
it takes a few miles for stretching. Then, I noticed how great the cushion
was. Hmmmmm.... This is great. I will make a note and make sure I don't
keep this pair an extra month or two like I did the last ones. Really, a
great feel, these new shoes. I don't think I've ever noticed this big of a
change before.
Now, its the second day. I notice the new shoes seem a little heavier than
the old ones (but not by much) and the cushion is really great. I go to put
the new shoes factory insoles into my old shoes ('cause I've used the
sorbathne from the old ones in the new ones and now they don't have insoles
now) and viola, I discover I have TWO insoles in the new shoes.
Is this right? Even if it is not right, I am going to keep TWO insoles.
But, I guess the question is, are the insoles designed to go on top of the
existing shoe insoles or replace them?
Thanks.
