I noticed the mistakes and wondered whether Landis, in the interviews
after stage 16, was covering up for his teams failure to get
water/food to him during the course of the race. The question arises
from hearing his trainer's observation that he was put on a scale after
the stage and was underweight (the interviewer was too spaced out to
ask how much) and this was due to dehydration. If you will recall,
Landis at this time dismissed his performance by taking the blame on
himself, "I had a bad day." This is a position the press has made
him regret as the question now is his "truthfullness" and not his
teams support performance.

I wonder whether his team could have "made it up to him" with a T rub
that night and ice water on stage 17. Probably will not ever know.
