    Hello!

    I purchased a 2009 Kona Shred back in 2009, and it was left basically unused in my garage until last month. I brought it to the local shop to have it tuned up. Until yesterday, I never touched the left shifter and am having difficulties with shifting. The left shifter has three options, whereas there appears to be only two chainrings on the front derailleur.

    Should there be a third chainring? https://imgur.com/a/GzWWeR1 shows some photos of the bike.

    I am pretty new to biking and as such have completely botched the terms.
