Altnabreac Nuclear Facility???

Altnabreac is certainly one of the remotest places I've visited. The hotel
closed in the seventies and is now Lochdu Lodge and is anyway a couple of
miles south. All there is at Altnabreac itself are some forest tracks, an
old school house, an old station house, a railway station and a small but
very noisy dog. There are couple of more cottages around - the total
population is 10 according to the census.

The station is extremely handy though for those walking from Land's End to
John O'Groats who want to avoid the plod along the A9. Not much choice of
routes through Caithness unless you fancy wandering across the Flow Country,
which is reputedly the largest expanse of blanket bog in the world.
