Where do they get these figures from? Do they call people on the phone & ask? Would my $500 paid to the acupuncturist in 1996 be included anywhere? Is over-the-counter "remedies" included in useage figures/dollar figures? Are they somehow extrapolating both AM useage & out of pocket monies paid.
I guess I don't get if they really don't know the "success rate" of various forms of alternative medicine (is there a database or "exit poll" I've been left off of since no one asked me?), how do they know this other stuff? IRS audits?
