This new hub from Shimano is wonderful. They claim it has a 10,000 mile lifespan and anoverhaul is around 75$. Not bad - I've had it for two months now and love the way it shifts and the 8-speed gear range is just right for me. I currently ride a Scott Sub 10 bike mostly for commuting and/or 15-20 mile rides for exercise. It is a very well-designed bike. Any questions about this 8-speed hub are most welcome.
