Anyone know if this can be done? I have made bubble tea in the past, but tried putting alcohol into the drink itself. The trouble with this is instead of an alcoholic variation of a bubble tea you get a cocktail with tapioca balls in it.
Btw if anyone is interested I have tried making these drinks with rum or Bailey's, both work, depending on if you go with a chocolate/milk tasting vs a fruity taste (rum works better for this).
One thing I've been thinking about trying is getting the alcohol in the balls. I think this would make it a whole lot easier to make the drink alcoholic without completely changing the taste of the tea itself.
I buy the tapioca balls (don't make them from scratch). Would there be a way to 'inject' alcohol into them?

Try soaking your balls in booze... test by licking but don't scratch em! hehe
