    I'm moving to Albany in about 2 months. I bike quite a bit around Rochester, where I live now, and am just wondering what the road bike scene is like out there. Bike friendly? Where are the best shops? Good races/rides? Any biking clubs or group rides?

    I live about an hour north of Albany and I don't know alot about the bike scene or bike shops in Albany itself but there is a fairly good cycling community north of Albany in the Saratoga/Glens Falls area. In Albany, the Capital Bike Racing Club (www.cbrc.us) and Mohawk Hudson Cycling Club (webmhcc.orgindex.php). There is great riding north of Albany in Washington, Saratoga and Warren Counties. Blue Sky Bicycles in Saratoga publishes a book of rides in the Saratoga and Washington County areas. You'll probably find less wind and more hills in this area.
