If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you can get your Aerobic Threshold tested at Sports Reaction Center in Bellevue. You can use this data to define your training so that you can increase your AT over time, improving your staying power. You can also discover your Anaerobic threshold in a max test if you are interested. We test you on your own bike, using a Velodyne trainer. We measure the RQ value to "see" where your metabolism switches from fat to sugar burning. It is a very cool test, and one that many local cyclists have taken advantage of to enhance their training regimin. The proof of the pudding is in a time trial at sub-max levels before and after training according to AT data restrictions. So far, I am very impressed with the results in numerous cyclists we have tested.
