I've got some older Profile aerobars that have an unadjustable arm width of 6 inches. I never use them much because I don't feel like I have control over the bike when I'm in an aero tuck. I was thinking about buying some newer bars with adjustable arm width so I am widen my arms a bit, but is this necessary? Do I just need some more saddle time in an aero tuck to get used to them?

cvcabran,
Aerobar positioning represents finding the best compromise for aerodynamics, power, and control. You'll achieve your best aero position if your arm rest width is adjusted so that your forearms and thighs are in the same plane. Aero bars that are fully adjustable (width, height, and length) will best allow you to tailor your position to your body.
