  1. Hello Im new here. I live in the uk and started cycling to work last september using a MTB. I have recently moved house to a very hilly area and although by cycling ive become fitter I am still struggling with the last hill on the way home.It has been acouple weeks now with very little improvment. A friend mentioned that a road bike would make it abit easier is there any truth to this. Any help would be much apreiciated.

  2. Well, a road bike with proper tires (not necessarily the skinniest ones), properly inflated, will give you much lower rolling resistance and that will certainly help. It will also be lighter. Whether the particular road bike will have suitable gearing for you and your hill is of course an open question. A triple crank would probably solve that. There there's the issue of your climbing technique, etc. Just some thoughts.
