Heading to France for the tour this year. I'll be there from Saturday 7/17 till Saturday 7/24. Doing it on my own without a tour group or a vehicle (other than my bike). Couple of questions for those who have been there before.
I'd like to ride the L'Alpe d'Huez time trial course. When would be the best time? The day before?
For the longer stages - Can you ride on the bike route the same day the riders come thru? Before and after?
Is it easy to catch a ride with someone? (Yes, I'll probably get tired every so often)
How hard is it to find a hotel room? Or a place to camp?
