Hey guys and gals, first post here, so be gentle.
About 10 years ago, I cycled through the usual road bikes- Trek 1000, Lemond Zurich to a Trek 5000. I rode to drop about 35 pounds, then started a family and didn't make time for riding.
I now have a stressful job, 2 great kids and have a need to become fit again. I'm not looking for another road bike, I'm intrigued by the idea of a hybrid, flat-bar road bike. I don't want to spend more than $600-$750. Further, I don't want to change my lifestyle to ride. Ideally, throw a leg over the thing 3 to 4 times a week, for an hour or two at a time.
Comfort is important, and I go 5'9 150 lbs. But I don't want a "comfort bike." I live in the foothills, so a triple chain ring is essential. Disc brakes, carbon forks, etc... Not really sure any of that will help me enjoy riding any more than a solid bike with good bits and pieces.
Closest I've come in my short search (locally on craigs) is a Fisher Tiburon, way under my $ limit to boot... In the perfect world of the Internet, I've been looking at the Fisher Fast City, Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus, etc...
Can you folks throw out a few recommendations? Thanks in advance, I look forward to your feedback.
