  1. The drug companies invent this drug. Then they figure out if it does
anything. If it makes some symptom go away, whatever symptom, then,
if necessary, they invent a new disease name and convince the idiot
MDs that there is such a disease. Then they sell it either directly
to the MDs or indirectly through the public. Remember FSD. The
idiots define diseases not by causes but by symptoms. This works out
perfectly for the drug companies. This is what they call science.
But it is really about money and the shallowness of the thinking of
the American public. These greedy drug companies couldn't get away
with this if the American public weren't so shallow. MDism is not
about health; it is about money.

Viagra is a good example. Impotence has many causes, and some of them
can be fatal. But the drug companies want to make money. They don't
give a rat's rear-end about your health. So, they, in conjunction
with the MDs, make the symptoms go away, but the cause remains. The
cause could be heart disease. So a guy has 3 more months of great sex
and drops dead of a heart attack.

Sometimes, Roger, you seem reasonably sane. This is not one of those
times. "Idiot MDs?" What's this -- envy that you were too dim to get
    into medical school?

That's what syndromes are all about -- you can sometimes identify a
diseased state even if you don't know what's causing it. They had
words for things like colds or flu before we knew about viruses.

This is what you call "too hard for Roger to understand."

Well, golly, thank goodness we have you, with your giant intellect, to
set us straight here. Give us some more contempt for the American
public while you're at it -- it makes you look so humanitarian.

Except that there are plenty of contraindications to the use of
Viagra, and certain types of cardiovascular disease are among them.

I suppose they could all learn to live with their impotence, as I
gather you have, but maybe some of them don't want to.
