Adjusting front derailleur with a triple?

You don't. You adjust a triple just like a double. Adjust the cable tension so that it shifts
smoothly through all three chainrings (I'm assuming it's an indexed system), and the high-low limit
screws so that the chain doesn't fall off the largest or smallest.

Oops, forgot the second part of your question! Preliminary adjustments are made with the chain
on the middle most cog. Fine tuning is done on the largest and smallest cogs until everything
works right.

Just like on a double.

with an Ultegra/double set up on my bike all the time, but am not quit sure about the triple. Where
do you make an adjustment for the middle gear ring in relationship to where the chain should be

Adjust the inward limit when in small ring and biggest cog(about 1mm). Shift into the middle ring.
If the chain rubs slightly on the inside of the fder cage when in biggest cog and then smallest cog,
fder limit when on smallest is correct. Shift to largest ring, check for 1mm clearance or so when in
smallest cog...
