Hey, I posted a couple months ago about how I'm having trouble adding
muscle mass. The first two months of working out I gained 20 pounds,
but then for over a year now nothing, but I'm getting a lot stronger (I
can bench more than my weight with dummbells now, a couple months ago I
could barely get 120 pounds up). I'm 5'10 but only 135 or so pounds.
I've been doing some research online and I've read a few articles about
in addition to having whey protein directly before and after a workout,
that one should also be adding an equal amount of dextrose and
maltodextrin to the shake (making a 2:1 carb to protein ratio). Would
getting these two carb powders be beneficial? Or is it just [censored]
and I'll just gain fat if anything. Where's the cheapest place to
order them or buy them from? Any help would be greatly appreciated,
it's frustrating putting so much time and effort into this and not
seeing any results at all.

get carbs from wonder bread. Your problem is you need to get more food into
you. Don't worry about how, when, why--just stuff it in.Hugh

i would use maltodextrin and common table sugar for postworkout drink,
the maltodextrin is not very sweet but have as high GI as dextrose so
its no use to add both table sugar is slower so its make sense to
use that combination instead, besides its cheap -

drink without them. But you don't need an equal amount of dextrose and
maltodextrin. THAT IS OVERKILL. They're both too similar to split hairs
like that.I use Now Foods Carbo Gain. It's 100% maltodextrin. I was using table
sugar previously and was putting around 40 grams in my shake. I found
it to be disgustingly sweet so I tried the malotdextrin which I heard
was less sweet than sugar. Turns out the maltodextrin is great! 40
grams in my shake and it has a mild sweetness to it, but nothing
overwhelming. Tastes great! Plus maltodextrin is pure glucose
(polymers) and is easily digested. Table sugar has half fructose which
is needed but does not help boost insulin post-workout, nor does it
replenish muscle glycogen. This is my recommendation: Get the maltodextrin. Try the Now Foods
Carbo Gain. I bought a 2lb. tub for about $10 bucks (total with
shipping) at House of Nutrition Online. However, I noticed that they
raised their price recently.Try luckyvitamin.com, they have it RIGHT NOW for $5 bucks. I'm not sure
how much shipping is on this site but it's probably like 5 bucks. Thats
a good price grab it.But this is only a small reason why youre not gaining mass. Hugh Beyer
is right. You are most likely not eating enough. And perhaps your
workout routine stinks. Go to bodybuilding.com message boards, thats
where all the best info is on the web.zoo
