I just opened and used a new jug of accelerade. i'm a first time user. 1 scoop for 12 oz cold water. shook in bottle. added ice and hit the road. after about 15 min took first sip and a smallish gob of goo came out of the bottle! I didn't investigate or anything, just spewed it out! Question is - what was that??!!?? There was no more goo for the rest of the bottle (of course i rode and drank on!) but now there's a cloudy film on my bottle (nalgene OTG.) What is that?
Sorry that these questions are quite lame, but i had to ask somebody! Any thoughts are appreciated.
i've been using Accelerade for several years now, the first use spirt is kind of common, never had "goo" though. I believe the scum left in the bottle is from the whey protein in the drink. You will want to buy a bottle brush so you can really clean the insides of your bottles, otherwise things could get pretty nasty. Haven't had Accelerade stain any of my bottles, but have had other energy drinks leave their mark!
