I rather wish that so many physicians didn't invest their time in so much research. In the
mainstream sites I have visited, I notice the pressure for competitve paper production. I recall
that atmoshphere in academia in non-medical areas. The motto was "publish or perish". Everyone is
trying to outdo each other in the number of research production, which was rewarded with grants and
promotions.
But in medicine, I wish doctors were divided into the practicioners and the researchers. We need
doctors who have experience in medicine. It seems to me that some have the talent for research and
some don't, and some have the time for it and others don't.
The patients end up being subjects of "schools" of medical practice and competitive ideas, when what
they really need is a homogenous, reliable treatment, based on experience and practice.
