  1. I had an abortion 2 years ago (it was 12 weeks into my
pregnancy). Before this I hardly suffered at all from pms,
but ever since the operation I have been dealing with
extreme mood swings, bouts of depression and every other
kind of physical pms symptom, every month for about 10
days. I'm mainly concerned with the mood swings as it's
affecting my relationship and I find myself pushing my
partner away every month at this time. Is there anything I
can do to stabilize myself? I'd like to mention that I am
NOT interested in taking any form of anti depressants and
that definitely includes Prozac. I'd be grateful for any
    advice. Robyn

Well, join those of us who have been pregnant and now have
PMS symptoms when none existed before the pregnancy. I
attribute mine to the hormonal swings of the pregnancy - the
actual abortion procedure you had, in all likelihood, has
nothing to do with it, but you went through the hormonal build-
up in those 12 weeks - but at least I also got curly hair
from it (I had perfectly straight hair before my
pregnancies, and now have a lovely natural curl) <g>

You might want to check out books by Susun Weed and Rosemary
Gladstar. _New Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way_ (Weed)
has a section titled 'PMS Forever?" that may help. _Herbal
Healing for Women_ (Gladstar) has some good recipes for teas
and other herbal concoctions to help with these symptoms.

    Best of luck, Kimmer kimagreenfieldatyahoodotcom
