A Sad Story

SIL has been doing renovations to house and lots of old bits were put into skip bin. When bin truck came to take the bin away, it already had a bin on board. It was full of....bikes. Old looking ones and new looking ones. SIL asked the driver about them. The story was that an old guy who had many bikes died and his widow just got rid of them. Just like that. A whole skip full. 🙁 🙁

SIL made subtle noises about maybe getting one or two out, but the driver was having none of that. They were all going back to the depot for the lads there to share out.

I suppose its not sad if you were one of the lads at the depot when the bin full of bikes came in.

Don't know if this helps but my most recent save from a skip can be viewed at http://www.fixedgeargallery.com/2005/june/RoderickWilliams.htm the frame, bars, stem ect were heading towards a skip when I intervened.

If any collectors / scroungers out there have any hints on it's history I would be glad to hear

Just have to keep the eyes peeled - and get a bigger shed. - happy collecting
