Today I have two meetings, one in Kirkcudbright (13 miles one way) at
10.30, one in Dumfries (21 miles the other) at 15:00 (Tour of Britain
planning). It's blazingly bright and there's virtually no wind, but water
in puddles and buckets is still frozen.
So at 9.30 it was out with the winter bike, and cycle up the hill. The
views are marvellous - intense colours and the English hills clear and
blue against the southern horizon across the gleaming sea. Over to
Kirkcudbright there are a couple of good hills, so it's a bit of a
workout; but a really enjoyable ride.
And now I'm just grabbing a bite of lunch and then it will be out again,
heading into Dumfries. I've been a bit depressed lately, and there's
nothing like a good ride in good weather to cheer one up.
