Hi everybody. I'm new to the forum and thought I'd ask a question and see if someone could help me out.
A couple of months ago, I bought a 2004 Haro Escape 8.2, which came with 2.35" Kenda tires.
Unfortunetly, the chainstays have almost no clearance with the wide tires that came STOCK on the bike. Whenever I make a fast sharp turn, the tire rubs the chainstay. This also happens when I sprint. Haro definitely needs to widen their chainstay tire area.
Even though the fit is pretty close, I feel it wouldn't be a problem if the tire/wheel itself actually had equal distance from the stays on either side.
On the disc side of the wheel, it's way closer than the cassette side.
This also applies to the front. The tire is closer to the left side of the fork than the right. But with the fork, it's not an issue, as there is plenty of room on the Marzocchi EXR Pro.
Nothings loose, and the wheels run true. The only thing I can think of is that the wheels are purposely offset. Are all disc wheels like this? If so, I'm gonna have to buy some 2.2's or smaller. Which would suck, because I want to put on some 2.5" Hookworms...
