Haven't done a Tempo ride on the trainer in a while after doing a 91% FTP 20 minute interval I tried 83% mid Tempo for an hour I ussually do a 91% 3x20. Did the one hour tempo have the same effect as the 2x20 at 91% would or should I ad more time to it?

Either increase intensity factor or time, preferably intensity.-Eric

2x20 at 91% with say 10 mins warm up and 10 minutes cool down and 5 mins in between could give TSS of about 72 points for the 65 minute ride.
65 minutes at 83% is about 75 TSS points.
So the two rides are about the same in terms of TSS scores
In terms of did they have the same effect - I'd say they were two good sessions but with slightly different effects in terms of adaptation .....

neither 2x20 @ 91% FTP nor 1 hour @83% FTP are going to do much for you unless you're heading into maintenance mode.
