This was one of my best races last year , not for the time but for the
enjoyment and this years running of it wasn't a dissappointment. A
fantastic 10k ish round Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham -
a mixture of wooded trails and moorland . Still coughing and with a
persistanty running nose that plagued me at last weeks Half Marathon I
felt taking it easy and enjoying this race was the way forward.
A field of nearly 400 of all age groups and abilities started and I
kept to the rear determined to take it easy . Brilliant weather helped
with clear sunny skies and a cool wind - it was a joy to run in the
woods . Some weird Klm markers though with the 5K marker less than 40
seconds run from the 6K!! - but it isn't really accurately measured,
got a good laugh as we ran past.
Taking it so easy got me across the line in 51:01 - very slow but not
as slow as the clock which showed 61:01!! - another glitch but funny.
All in all then a delightful XC run and an all time favourite of mine.
