700 x 250 tyresizes question/help needed ?

700x25 is the direct replacement for what you have on the bike. Still a very
very common size.

( The ISO for your tyre is 622mm with a 25mm wide tyre, also on your old
ones. ISO sizes are not commonly used by bicycle shops in my experience ).

You may find 700x28 (or even 700x32) more comfortable *if* there is enough
clearance for them.

700 aka 700C is still the standard for road bikes so you'll have no
problem finding suitable tyres and tubes.
