    🙁

it was immensely satisying to see 5 plates on the bar, though.

    That's only 495 lbs, ya fudger. 😉

i didn't say there were ONLY 5 plates on the bar

5 big plates per side, PLUS one 2 1/2 lb'er per side, PLUS clamps, thus
assuring it was OVER 500 lbs

    hth

    whit

Yeah? You put 5 big ones on a side and then shoved 2 1/2 pounders on top?

Damn, I've got a new dimension of butching up to deal with. I've been
rounding squats and DLs to the nearest 10 lbs on the grounds that fiddling
with the extra change wasn't worth it.

This must be my week for being opaque.

I max out at half what you're lifting. You're putting on the extra 5
pounds (1%) to make the milestone. I'm feeling at much lighter weights
like that's too small a differential to deal with (admittably, not going
for the milestone there). You're making me wonder whether I shouldn't be
    going for the 5lb increment.

i think that no matter where you are at - increments matter

going up 5 lbs is a lot

%age wise it is far more at 200 lbs than it would be at 600 lbs, as well

There is a very small, but not zero, chance that a random quantum

is that it was PROBABLY over 500 pounds.

    So, probably, way to go!

As my chem prof would say, there is no way to know for sure how many
of the 3 figures in 500 are significant.

    He could write it 5.00E2

    or 500.

Eh, maybe, but it looks awkward. The other is unambiguous.

With the tolerances used on regular weights, that's OK.
    So either 5.0E02 or 5.00E02. 😉

i'm actually pretty surprised that i could squat 500 4 months after i
    completely decimated my leg

Precise definition of "decimate" aside, I forgot to ask earlier: What did
you do to your leg four months ago?

Something about showing off to some cowgirls on a mechanical bull.

    Ya know, typical Whitney behavior.
