After reading many problems about knees, I agree with all of the advice, and, wish to add that I ride 100mi. a week + and several centuries a season, and despite being older, and in the past having knee problems, have found great success with:
1. Glucosamine Chondroitn
2. An Athletic knee brace if a pain develops
3. Vitamin E 1200 I.U. a day
4. On steep hills, standing out of the saddle as much as possible
5. Riding with knees close to the top bar all the time

If you like the results from glucosomine, Try a product called Syn-Flex. You can get a months supply off eBay for around $20.00. Best joint supplement I've ever tried.

jp111Let me know how it works. Really saved me. Having ruptured both achilles tendons really affected my knees to the point the tendonitis and jumper's knee would become unbearable. Syn-Flex has been a huge part of the solution. That and Omni4 - a liquid vitamin that makes everything work better.
