i am having a wheel built and need a 48 hole trach hub for the rear, 40 for the front. i thought i needed a dedicated track hub, but i can only find bmx and tandem hubs in 48 or 40. any suggestions? brands? can i use a bmx? thanks

why 48 hole? Does it have to be that? Track hubs are most common in 28,32 and 36.

yeah it does have to be a 48, the guy who is building the wheel said that is what he needs. the wheel is a velocity spartacus, if you want to see it i think the website is velocityusa.com. look under road wheels. thanks for responding.

who and what is he building you? The partacus is a pre-built wheel from Velocity. I assume he is using the rims from velocity? They come as 24 hole rear and 20 in the front as good wheelset. I'm not sure why he needs a 48 hole hub to build you a track wheelset, it sounds like overkill.
