  1. It is slightly over 30 days since I got my new bicycle. I called my LBS for the 30 day checkup. The mechanic told me, if your bike seems ok and nothing is loose etc., might as well save the checkup for later, as it is free one time only in one year.

Can I take this word or is it vital to have the checkup done after 30 days ?

    Thanks.

    Vijay

  2. See what is written on your receipt and brochure. If it is different to what the mechanic says then go with the writing!

  3. the 30 day thing most shops do is just cause its a new bike and its gonna have a small break in period wear cables can stretch slightly and other things settle in. all they do is make small adjustments to the brakes and gears, which even if you have never worked on bikes before, its pretty easy to learn how to do that part.
