  1. OK, i feel the need to announce this to several people so that i don't back out.... i'm going to do
my first sprint distance tri on July 19th. i did a Try-a-tri race back in May and have been chomping
at the bit to do a longer course race. my training has taken me beyond the race distances, so i feel
ready. the only slightly unknown factor is the OW swim, which i will simply practise a few more
times during the next few weeks.

    this sprint race is 750m-20km-5km

    Alrighty, on with the training!

Cam, what's the water temp up there this time of year?

    Tom,

I'm not too sure. I'm not a good judge of temperature just by feel, and I don't know if/where anyone
posts such things on the web. The air is loaded is moisture... something like 84% humidity today,
and the temp of about 30 C will go up significantly with the humidex. It was rather hot out at 9am
this morn during my run - I was an ocean of sweat.

All I know is that whenever I hit the outdoor - unheated - pool beside my apartment building, it's
rather chilly unless I keep swimming laps. So it's a good temp for a workout/race.
