Erm, that isn't a 'high tech' roof, is it? Not supposed to wiggle
it's tips or go up or down? (Not that high tech roofs cause any
construction difficulties / delays.....)

Sorry to be a wet blanket,
but the Olympics bid succeeded in London partly on the back of a promise
by the ODA and the Greater London Authority that there would be a legacy
Velopark left after the games, consisting of a Velodrome (OK) plus BMX
AND a road cycling circuit, to equal the Eastway. 35 acres in all.
Len Livingstone is on record as saying this development would go ahead
WHETHER OR NOT THE OLYMPIC BID SUCCEEDED.
As far as I'm concerned, as I say the Olympic bid succeeded partly due
to this promise.
Eastway users have been moved off the site, which is now an access road
and site full of portakabins and diggers.
Eastway replacement still not in place.
And what do we see - legacy velopark cut down extremely, with no real
provision left for road course. "Oh sorry - we didn't really MEAN you
would get 35 acres. We have to put in houses and roads"
British Cycling seemed to be content with their shiny velodrome,
and only in the last two weeks have they been sufficiently provoked that
they have finally spoken up against the plans.
Sorry Jan, yes the new velodrome looks nice, and thanks for posting this.
But cyclists in the UK are being robbed blind here.
