  1. I am planning on getting a Specialized Hardrock but was wanting some opinions on weather to get the 05 or 06. I relize 05s might be a little cheaper but I want the best bike.

Also will the Hardrock hold up to some rough rideing such as 3 foot drops, I am about 215lbs. I plan on being pretty rough on the bike, will this bike hold up?

  2. I'd go with the 2005 model.
If you talk with the owner of the shop, you should be able to get a lower price for the last years model, and he knows that he will make the money back anyway when you bring it back for service, and tell your friends.

  3. hello,

i'm new to biking and to this formum. i did just recently purchase an '06 hardrock sport. my criteria was to do a lot of road riding but be able to convert over to trails once i get in better shape. after giving my requirements to the lbs i purchase from, the owner of the shop told me that it would be good for trails but wouldn't recomend jumping it so it may or may not meet your requirements. specialized website also confirms that in there literature. for the price and beginning bike it was a good purchase for me. it rides great and i love the frame styling. although the bike is fairly lite, it feels very sturdy with my 250+ lbs on it.
anyhow, just thought i'd share my personal novice experience. good luck with your decision.
