Anyone had any probs with this nwe xt derailiere r ive \just got a new bike and could not get into
lowest gear ( easiest ) ..big ring ant rear ...I think ....anyway on inspection it looks like the
insert that is fitted to take the bolt that hold the cable is actualy hitting the lower body of the
mech and will not let it drop the extra bit to make it work ...just wondering if anyone else has had
this prob as the bike shop clain it was tested before it went out but on my first ride it would not
go into lowest gear I thinkit could be a manafacturing prob as it looks like it could not be bent
..took the cable off as its a reverse spring and it still wouls not go in any help welcome .. \jim

the details... take a deep breath and relax when you type...). ;-)If the rear mech won't go onto the big ring, chance are you just need to back out the H limit screw
a turn or so.If the front mech won't go, and is "bottoming out" before getting to the granny (small) chain ring,
it's almost certain that you have a too-short bottom bracket. Sometimes that's a problem on a bike
with an oversize seat tube (since the front mech gets moved to the right half the extra diameter of
the tube). That's why Shimano (usually) lists two sizes of bottom brackets for a given crank.Mark Hickey Habanero Cycles habcycles.comhabcycles.comOpen ↗ Home of the $695 ti frame

welcome ..I'll go opposite of Mark and assume you're talking about the rear derailleur ("big ring ant rear"😉.
It's not a manufacturing problem, it just needs adjusting: sheldonbrown.comderailerOpen ↗
