  1. I have just returned to the bike after a 2 week layoff following a NASTY chest cold (ya know, hacking up LOTS of green stuff)...during this time, I also lost 2Kgs... Today I watched my heart rate jump and dive as I rode an easy 1 1/2 hrs. I couldnt believe how quickly I lost all my fitness! My legs felt NOTHING, but my lungs felt like they had a full workout.

Question: How long does recovery take from this kind of thing?

Thank goodness it is the off-season...

    e 😕

  2. my post on cayenne be of help to you

  3. It could potentially take 1-2 days for every day that you were out of commision. Even when I took a one week transition during the summer, it took about the same amount of time to get things back to somewhat normal. The old saying - "use it or lose it" is the rule...

  4. Bryan Bergman's article on detraining and physiological effect:

    trainright.compage.asp

It sure put my 2003 winter "training"-effort 🙁 into perspective

  5. i notice the same thing after the time off....legs don't feel it but the lungs and heart do

    fix
