Greetings, one and all!

Does anyone have experience with the newer Mavic Ksyrium SL wheel set,
or even the Ksyrium Elite?

Are these recent models any more durable then the earlier generation?
I remember seeing and being told that stress cracks would form on the
top, horizontal surface of the rim where they had been machined down?
[If I correctly recall, that was the Ksyrium ES wheel set?]

Over the past couple of years, I've seen of and known of a few who
have truly managed to crack up a pair of these Ksyrium wheels?

Still, if these newer versions, such as the Ksyrium SL are to be
believed and supported, then it seems they're a better wheel then much
of the other specialized wheels out there?

Thanks for any and all meaningful input you can offer.

Bill

The Ksyrium SL's are very nice wheels. But they require special spokes (as
do most of the "special" wheels these days) whereas the Ksyrium Equip uses
the usual bent spokes and while there are less of them than in most wheels,
they are still light and stiff.

Truth to be told I haven't had a bit of trouble with my Ksyriums though my
brother who is 35 lbs lighter than me broke a spoke.

But I have seen a lot of problems that other people have had with other
manufacturers "special" wheelsets.
