I've got an Ultegra group on my road bike with a double ring crank,
and I'm thinking of swapping parts with my fiance' to give her the
Ultegra setup and take her 105 for my commuter. The problem is her
105 is a triple. I know that newer Ultegra levers will work with
either a double or a triple, but don't know if my old '99 setup will.

Starting with 1998 and when ulterga went to 9s, the left lever is double
AND triple compatible.
