1956 Varsity Schwinn

Unless you have an attachment to that bike, it is not worth much. In 1956 it was a pretty good bike but now it is pretty much a heavy clunker. It would be good if you are starting a museum. It would be a good restoration project because it looks like it is complete, but for actual daily riding or occasional riding, there are a lot better bikes out there. You have to decide if it is worth $100 to you. Visit your local bike shop and talk to them. See what they might have to offer. Visit your local big box stores and see what they have, then figure out if you still want this bike.

If you're buying it for nostalgia, then go for it, but I still think $100 is a lot for that bike. In pristine original condition, maybe. If you are looking for something to give you many hours of riding pleasure, then look for something newer. My wife, daughter and I all bought used bikes this spring, two Treks and a Columbia all from the 1990s. The Treks were < $100 each in excellent condition and the Columbia was $50 in good working condition and fair to good otherwise. All would be much better daily riders than the '50s Schwinn.
