  1. The bike is about 36 lbs as configured (XL w/ Slime).

I'm running this bad boy bone stock. The bike store swapped
out the 5th Element for a Fox DHX 5.0 Air and (my one
modification) I've moved to the Specialized Milano Gel seat.
Yep, I know it's big, but so am I and I need the added
width. Plus the aggressive BG cut (ehem) does its job.

Got half dozen rides or so, been up to the Ridge Road on it
the last 3 Saturdays (good strong steep climb), got in some
semi-tech downhills, and bombed some fire roads.

    How does it perform?

I've got the bike set up in the 'XC' mode (steepest head-
tube angle). I find that the bike climbs very well. So
well that it's inconceivable for me to think of giving up
the suspension (for efficiency reasons anyway). And she
downhills like a demon escaping Hell. Front/rear shocks and
the geometry are _very_ good. The bike is well-balanced and
predictable. I take a lot of little water-bar jumps on it
and it flys and lands well.

The Specialized Enduro tires are balls on...best I've used
in the desert climes' varying degrees of sand and
hard-pack. Only complaint I have about the tires is that
the side-walls are thin. I've already punctured one with a
    pine cone or branch.

    Avid Juicy's rock!

Bottom line: THE perfect bike for my style of riding.

    'nuff said.
