And lets be real, how many of us are actually using our trainers to try and set new PRs or win virtual KOMs. For the average rider, is it really worth the time and effort to calibrate their trainer to ensure pinpoint accuracy, or are we just getting caught up in the minutiae of it all. And whats the real-world impact of a miscalibrated trainer on your outdoor rides, anyway. Are you really going to notice the difference between 180 watts and 190 watts on a Sunday group ride. Im not convinced that the benefits of calibration outweigh the costs, especially when you consider the potential for human error and the inherent variability of trainer readings. So, am I missing something here, or is the emphasis on calibration just a case of over-engineering. Shouldnt we be focusing on more important things, like actually getting out and riding our bikes.
