Why do manufacturers insist on releasing gravel bike rear lights with USB charging that are either blindingly bright but use up battery life in under 5 hours, or ridiculously dim and barely visible to drivers, but can last for 20 hours on a single charge? Cant they strike a balance between visibility and battery life? It seems like every light Ive tried is either a waste of money or a compromise on safety.
And dont even get me started on the ones that claim to have daytime running modes but are barely visible in anything other than pitch black darkness. Whats the point of a safety feature if its not actually visible to anyone?
Are there any gravel bike rear lights with USB charging that actually deliver on both brightness and battery life, or am I just chasing a myth?
