No sunburn for me this year so far because I've avoided cycling altogether
between noon and 3 pm. I might be English and mad but I ain't no dog!
Does mean that the second half of long rides are in darkness if you set
off in the afternoon. Fortunately I got to lit roads by that time
yesterday.
I went to Hemel Hempstead to see the magic roundabout*. It's actually
nice and easy to negotiate. I wouldn't mind some of those in London.
Some beautiful lanes southwestish (?) from there: twisty turny descents
and stunning village greens and cricket grounds. I wish I could remember
the names of the villages. Would spoil the ride to keep stopping to write
them down. Does anyone use a dictaphone?
